Burned three -Barbara arn
Ellen Hopkin's is a very unique writer with a very reconizable writing style. All of her books have good messages and show struggles that young people (girls) face when growing up. Usally the charecters undergo tough surcimstances that not everyone would endure but they still feel the way everyone else feels."I felt angry, frustrated. I felt like I didn't belong, not in my church, not in my home, not in my skin". This is a feeling that everyone feels and Ellen grasps that pain and struggle in her writing. Her books and charecters are very easy to relate to and the charecters are very developed, through their history, sayings and feelings. Also her style of writing is very unique and engasging. She wrights all her stories in stanzas. It keeps people interessted and it makes that page hurt your eyes less. Also I find it seperates point that could be over looked if it was written like all other books. I would have to say my favourite part about reading Ellen's book are then intensity of her words. Most authors use large words to describe things but she uses simple combinations of words to make a point that is basic yet touching. One place I feel she takes basic words and makes them strong is when Pattyn is telling the story of her famiy and she describes the lose of her grandpa and how it effects her grabdma she says "his wife, till death did part them, prematurly, would never regain the love lost to battle scars"
